Reflection
Experience:
I have learnt a lot throughout these 14 weeks, not only knowledges of Typography but also learnt how to document my works neatly and I was very happy about it as I could look through what I have done in this 14 weeks and know what I should improve next. Before this semester started, I was not that interested in typography class but as the first day of the class started, I found out that I actually love typography class, like how the way that our lecturers giving us tutorials and lectures, share some useful link/references, and how productive the classes were!
Observations:
Before I taken to this course, I didn't know that typography is so important to us and the people around me also not aware of the importance of it, I think it should be more explored by people. Besides, I also found out that I can understand how the design principles are used in typography now, for instance, the alignment, hierarchy, and so on. I also observed that my productivity is way more better than the other classes, maybe is because how our lecturers need us to update our work every week to get attendance on Facebook, it is fastest way and easy to look back. However, I also stressed out when I see the other classmates' works as I somehow will compare their works with mine but it makes me to have the desire to work harder also, so it still a good thing to me though.
Findings:
After studying 14 weeks of typography, I slowly noticed the importance of typography in design and how often it affects our daily decision making, for example, an advertisement can be eye-catchy if the right typefaces are chosen, and somehow affects people to spend time on the details of the ads and making them to have the desire to know more about it. Moreover, typography classes also improved my adobe illustrator skill by practicing on those tasks/projects. Last but not least, I realised my knowledges on typography are still very seldom, I will try spend more times on learning typography during my semester break!
