Task 3B :Type Design and Communication
Instruction
With the knowledge and experience gained in the Exercises, Task 1 and Task 2, Task 3A, synthesise and apply the learning in the following tasks:
Your first task is to express typographically a social message/greeting relevant to the campus community at Taylor’s University or society at large.
1. Set your art board size to 512 x 512 px (Adobe Illustrator)
2. Choose an appropriate typeface from the 10 given
3. Use Black & White only until design is confirmed/approved
4. Save artwork as PDF & PNG, upload/embed onto eportfolio.
You may use minor graphical elements or visuals to aid in your message and design. You may use the appropriate colour schemes after getting the black and white version approved. Ensure that the expression occupies the space and is legible and readable for its intended use.
Upon completion of the designed sticker, selected stickers will be used for social platforms Telegram/WhatsApp.
Design an attractive, functional, and visually impactful sticker. You may use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for the task.
So I chose "Happy Children's Day" for this project, designed sticker.

After receiving feedbacks Week 11, I focused on Option 1 and try to work with a new outcome of it. Here is my second attempt:

Figure 1.4 Chocolate/HappyChildren'sDay (18.06.21)
The feedbacks on Week 12 were my colors does not seem to be seen when I proceed it into sticker as I will be so small when we look in telegram, so I have to consider the colors, size, and position.
Here's my revisions:

Feedback
Week 11
Specific Feedback:
Mr Vinod told me to use fairer typefaces, chubby or childish like children who can’t sit still
General Feedback:
Mr Vinod said words are too small and graphic element too strong, need to be a little playful when working on it.
Week 12
Specific Feedback:
Mr. Vinod suggested me to change the colour of my text so it can be more eye-catchy when imported to telegram for sticker use. Moreover, he also say that i should try work more on the shape of my candy.
General Feedback:
The corner of my candy is too sharp, the idea is good but over simplification and I have to figure out before the class end.
Reflection
Experience:
For this task, Mr.Vinod wanted to try something different so he asked us to create greeting sticker which I never done it before. At first, I thought that I could use some graphic elements to enhance my type design but later on Week 11, I was told that it was too much graphic element in my design so I have to re-design it and think of other way to create it. It is quite a good experience, I would like to create more stickers after this when I have times(sssss).
Observations:
After this task, I noticed that I have limited colour sense to create an art work, therefore, I think I should study more about the colours and Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul also provided few colour palette website that I can look for.
Findings:
The findings for this task was that I should do more sketching when step into digitising them, and also I need to do more research about certain colour palette that suits for the theme that I working on. Overall, I think this is the most not so difficult task compare to other tasks of this subject, maybe I am familiar a little bit more than before with adobe illustration already.

I have not found any book or site that is about the sticker study, hence, I read this book for better understanding on type expression to enhance my knowledge on the expression so that I could try to express my sticker by type.
