Figure 1.3 : Vormator Shape

We are required to use these limited shapes which are "Vormator Shape" to create our own creature.

Figure 1.4 : Screenshot of my canvas (10.04.21)

The first step I did was start tracing the the vormator shape by using pen tool so i can make my sketches digitally later on.

Figure 1.5 : Shape arrangement of my character (11.04.21)

After that, I also added eyes, face, and her mouth of it and i forgot to get the screenshot. As Ms. Annis's lectures (character design basic), i get the idea of positive or friendly characters are usually in a round shape and bright colors.

  • Final Outcome (Vormator Challenge)

Figure 1.6 : Final Result of my character "Space_Kak" (11.04.21)

It is a character that will floating in the air and live in space to keep the space's order and rules. Whoever break the rules at the space will immediately vanished by the "Space_Kak". The reason why i named it "space_kak" is because of the original word "kakak" from bahasa Melayu, like "kakak" will always protecting us and the meaning of Space_Kak existence is to protect the universe for preventing it destroy by creatures out there.

Figure 1.9 : screenshot of the world map (19.04.21)

Firstly, I wanted to create a 3D earth for my landscape illustration so downloaded the world map from the internet and trace the outline by using pen tool in order to draw the entire world on my canvas, and added it to "symbol" so i can select the symbol (world map) on the "map art" in the "3D Revolve Option".

Figure 2.1 : the outcome of a 3D world map on the blue circle (19.04.21)

I also created the galaxy by using dark blue background and white dots as the stars :

Figure 2.3 : Creating the light-years (19.04.21)

In order to make it looks more alike with the galaxy, i created light-years by using rectangle tool and duplicated, and used the pathfinder tool to unite them all which i learned from Mr. Kanan before during practical section.
