- Biography
This is Heng Yuan Wei, but my friends called me Wanda since high school, from Seri Kembangan, Selangor. She studied Diploma in Communication in Sunway but found out that she actually like designing when she doing her internship so she is now studying Bachelor of Design in Creative Media in Taylor’s University. She likes experience different cultural from different country and will travel abroad/locally at least 3 times a year but she is being stuck at home after the pandemic happened, so she start doing film photography about her daily life for documenting and gardening with her mother as both of them love plants and flowers very well.
Before she stepping into her degree, she became a content & graphic designer at Beam Team, Berjaya Corporation Berhad after what she had done well in her internship, her boss ask her to stay, so she think “WHY NOT”. Therefore, she helps doing monthly contents and visual for social media posting and also product photography as she wanted to gain some experiences before she start her degree. That is how she find her passion about aesthetic and design.
After that, she found out she is still lack of skill sets on design although she learnt some from the company. Hence, she started to do further studies on design so she can continue create more and more design works.
As a design student, she trying to find her own style by experimenting on different approach of arts that can express herself and her thoughts, and hope everyone likes it.

On this digital artwork, I want to include my film camera, flowers, and my recent situation.
What is the concept behind it?
The concept behind my artwork is all about finding own self, just be who you are, do whatever makes you feel great and chasing your dreams!
What is the message you want people to understand it?
Do not let people to judge you by doing the things you like and feeling comfort by doing it but make sure it will not harm the others, go and discover the inner galaxy of your own.

Practice what you know and it will help you to make clear what you do not know

Design Direction
I roughly sketched out from my imagination:

A few experiments on this, I found out it is not a suitable color for my portrait so I use the original sky and added texture (Noise) on it:

Later on, I keep adding flowers and butterflies around me as I mentioned I love gardening and finding my own self at the biography.

I make sure that I arranged and named the layers very clearly before i proceed to after effect, this is for better editing.

Artist Statement:
It actually represents the recent situation of me, I am still searching for the true me and trying to find a way to let me convey my inner thoughts. The butterflies go in and out of my head is to express my voice of thoughts trying to find a way out to convey and the reason why I use butterflies as thoughts is because it is very hard to catch/get it like a butterfly. Creativity is infinity like the galaxy, that is why the butterflies are going in and out of my mind, the galaxy.
